Jed Comics in the Jed-iverse!

There are a ton of stories in the Jed the Undead universe that I’ve told and will continue to tell (you can’t stop me)!

JED THE UNDEAD: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER is the 200-page full color Jed Volume 1 you’ve been waiting for! (We haven’t taken this bad boy on submission yet, so stay tuned!)

  • JED THE UNDEAD: BEST FRIENDS FOREVER (2018), originally my thesis project at CCS. Includes:

    • AND SATAN WAS CAST UNTO HELL (prelude, not in final book)

    • CONKERS OF FUN

      • Jed’s dad Dante gets a job in real estate and, inadvertently, renders Freddy’s family homeless. Meanwhile, Jed learns about how hard being a human can really be.

    • PROM QUEEN MARY

      • Jed and Freddy realize they only talk to each other, and nobody else, and attempt to fix the problem.

    • CAMP DROWNING KID

      • Jed and Freddy head to summer camp and learn a lot about power struggles, friendship, and identifying yourself in other people.

  • JED THE UNDEAD: LATE NIGHT TACOS (2017) (mini)

  • JED THE UNDEAD: FIRE IN THE HOLE (2017) (nsfw)

    • The infamous JED THE UNDEAD 40-pager which features Jed’s disturbingly upsetting kick-start into puberty. Critically acclaimed by High-Low Comics, SyFy Wire, and gender-nonconforming young adults everywhere!

  • JEDVILLE (2015): an art book that debuted at TCAF that year

The JED THE UNDEAD universe was developed by Spencer Earthworm & Andi Santagata (2012-2022)

The JED THE UNDEAD comics are written/illustrated by Andi Santagata (2015-2022)

Armageddon “Jed” Spritzer is a teenage demon with too many feelings, who desperately wants to melt into the background.

Freddy “Freddy” Pulowski is a teenage human beset with cynical suburban ennui, who desperately wants to be seen the way people see Jed.

Jed the Undead is a bitterly funny, devastatingly heartfelt deep-dive into male friendship, hard-to-swallow feelings, the 2008 recession, and other angsty things that can only be told through the eyes of the tenuous, deeply entwined relationship of a 15-year-old demon kid, his real estate agent helicopter dad, and his best friend in all the world, a teenage (human) edgelord who’s slowly dying inside.

“Andi has created fully developed, complex and unique characters who are living on the  edge […] So surprisingly tender, in the end, I was a little teary. I really fell in love with these kids in this piece. They are desperate to feel cared about, to belong, and to feel safe, and the artist portrays this all just right.”Jo Knowles, YA author

“It’s rare for a comic to take me by surprise, but [JED THE UNDEAD] did the trick… Possibly the funniest two-page spread I read this year.” - Rob Clough, High-Low Comics
